The KFC Big Bash League has today provided an update regarding the first three matches of the KFC BBL|11 season scheduled to be played at Optus Stadium.
Tickets will go on sale from 10:00 am AWST today for the Perth Scorchers’ home matches against the Brisbane Heat on December 8 and Hobart Hurricanes on December 20.
The scheduled match between the Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers on December 11 has been moved to Sydney Showground Stadium, due to state border controls and how they apply to enter Western Australia. The Strikers will have travelled through Victoria four days prior to that match and will be unable to enter Western Australia due to Victoria’s classification as an extreme risk jurisdiction.
Sydney Showground Stadium was the only alternate BBL-spec venue available for the match. The match will still begin at its originally scheduled start time of 9:30pm AEDT, as the second match of a Saturday night double header.
Matches on December 8 and 20 in Perth will be played under strict quarantine conditions. This has allowed the Scorchers’ entry to and from NSW to be undertaken, as it is classified as a high risk jurisdiction by Western Australia. Additionally, the Heat will be able to enter Western Australia for its match after playing in the ACT, due to its classification as medium risk.
Further updates regarding the other four KFC BBL|11 matches scheduled to be played in Perth on December 26, December 30, January 5 and January 6 will be provided in due course.
The League and Clubs will continue to prioritise the health and safety of players, staff, match officials, fans and the wider community nationwide during the KFC BBL|11 season.

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, said:
“We’re delighted that the Perth Scorchers have been able to make tickets to two KFC BBL|11 matches at Optus Stadium on December 8 and 20 available to their fans today.
“This is further good news for cricket fans in Perth, following confirmation that the Weber WBBL|07 Final will be held at Optus Stadium this Saturday night.
“We understand Scorchers fans will be disappointed with the need to move December 11 match out of Perth. The League is committed to taking as many home Scorchers matches to Optus Stadium as possible and we look forward to providing further positive updates in the coming weeks.
“We thank the Scorchers and WA Cricket, as well as Seven and Foxtel, for their hard work to ensure these matches can safely proceed and acknowledge the Western Australian Government’s and relevant agencies’ ongoing support of the summer of cricket.”
