Cricket Canada (CC) is the body responsible for the administration and control of cricket in Canada.  An Associate member of the International Cricket Council (“ICC”), Canada. It is a non-profit National corporation incorporated under Not-for-Profit Act, and headquartered in the Toronto. Canada

CC requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced coach to provide coaching services in respect of the national Women team.

The Women’s National Head Coach (‘Women’s Coach’) will be a competent and qualified sports coach with significant experience and exposure to the international cricket environment.

Women’s Coach will have a primary responsibility for delivering high-quality individual improved performance and results of Cricket Canada National and the Women Under 19 Team Currently, the role would include responsibility for developing the appropriate coaching structure and support environment around the national team and its players and ensuring continuity of philosophy, planning, and structure from the Women’s Team and across the Women’s High-Performance Program.

The Women’s Coach will work in close collaboration with the Cricket Canada Director.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Have a proven record of on-field personal success especially with development teams
  • Display an in-depth knowledge of the game.
  • Possess leadership qualities, to be able to lead by example and set strong training standards.
  • Minimum of Level 2 Coaching Certificate or its equivalent complemented with 3 years minimum proven coaching experience.
  • Have experience in assisting in the development of younger players.
  • Excellent Communication and People Management Skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds.
  • Strong planning, organizing and executing skills.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of current cricket coaching techniques.
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) and Coaching Software.
  • Highly motivated and driven to achieve team success and maintain strong team culture.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges facing Associate Member cricket and/or the development of cricket in Canada.
  • Working knowledge of high-performance, analysis, and monitoring technologies as they apply to cricket.

 Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coaching, including planning, developing and executing the national teams’ training program consistent with the objectives established by CC.
  • Prepare the team training and competition plans.
  • Develop a coaching structure to support Women’s national team.
  • Coaching, monitoring of daily training environment.
  • Support and evaluate players selected for National and U 19 Team Projects.
  • Evaluate Players performances and attainment of team/individual goals
  • Direct the assistant coaches in their roles within the National program.
  • Prepare regular written reports to the General Manager and National Team Director.
  • Function as mentor coach for other development coaches.
  • Be a role model and example for players to follow in terms of professionalism, respect, and empathy to create a healthy team environment.
  • Participate in Women’s National Team selections as a non-voting member of the National Selection Panel.
  • Attend national, and regional tournaments and camps as required to view and develop current and future players for the Women’s National Squad.
  • Maintain the highest level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality in matters sensitive to Cricket Canada’s operational activities.
  • Adhere to and always promote CC standards and ethics and act professionally at all times

 The Contract will run for Two (2) year

 Remuneration

Remuneration and terms on the contract are negotiable based on experience and what you will bring to the role and CC. The position reports to the General Manager of CC .
