Cricket Hong Kong, China is delighted to announce the hosting of the Hong Kong Women’s T20I Series to be played at The Hong Kong Cricket Club from the 15th to 19th November 2023.
International cricket will return to The Hong Kong Cricket Club following its hosting of Men’s East Asia Cup in 2018. In this year’s Women T20I Series, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Nepal, and Tanzania will play in a round-robin T20I tournament. The top two finishers of the group stage will proceed to the final while the remaining two teams will play in a third-place playoff to determine the final rankings.
Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China, said “We are tremendously thrilled to host another international tournament following the Men‘s APC Group One Day and T20I series in March and the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup in June. The Women’s T20I Series will serve as a medium to showcase the quality of women’s cricket in Hong Kong and inspire the next generation of female cricketers”
Jasmine Titmuss, HKCC Women’s Cricket Convenor said, “‘We are so excited to host the Women’s T20I Series. We look forward to welcoming all 4 teams to our wonderful cricket ground and hope the teams will enjoy our hospitality. We also look forward to welcoming the wider Hong Kong community to not only enjoy some high-quality international cricket, but to be part of creating a future here in Hong Kong where women’s cricket continues to flourish.’
Andy Cottam, Women’s Head Coach of Cricket Hong Kong, China, stated “The Women’s T20I Series will be a great contest for our Women’s team to play against the top nations as well as an opportunity to test their capability on home soil. We would also like to express our gratitude to The Hong Kong Cricket Club for providing a wonderful venue to host the Women’s T20I Series.
The Hong Kong Women’s T20I Series will be broadcast around the world as Cricket Hong Kong, China will broadcast all of the games live, with fans being able to watch the action either on the CHK’s Facebook page or on FanCode in India.
