Cricket Ireland today confirmed a 50-over warm-up match will be played between Ireland Wolves and Bangladesh Men on Friday 5 May 2023 ahead of the three-match World Cup Super League series between Ireland Men and Bangladesh Men.
This is not the first time the two squads have met – the Ireland Wolves beat Bangladesh by 88 runs at The Hills Cricket Club in 2019.
Richard Holdsworth, High Performance Director for Cricket Ireland, said:
“We are pleased to confirm this match which will provide an important development opportunity for a cohort of players who are looking to step up to the senior squad in the future or players looking to press their claims for selection in the near term. We understand fully the importance of the Wolves programme as an essential part of the pathway between domestic and international cricket and will be looking at a full programme next year and beyond as we enter the next phase in our development as a Full Member.”
The match will be played behind closed doors.
