An Ireland Women’s Development Squad has been selected for a tour to Scotland this week – with the team set to play two 50-over and two T20 matches against Scotland Development at Clydesdale Cricket Club.

The tour gives a good opportunity for Under-19s Head Coach, Glenn Querl, to look at some players who will be eligible for the next Under-19s World Cup.

Of the tour Glenn Querl said:

“It is a young group we are taking across to Scotland. A couple of players have tasted international cricket, albeit that they are still in the infancy of their careers.

“This can hopefully benefit the players around them, as they step into a higher level of competition. All these players have been around the Super Series competition this year. This tour will hopefully help with our succession planning and help speed up development of players in key areas where skill gaps have been identified for the national squad.”

The tour schedule is:

• Monday 21st August T20 @ Clydesdale Cricket Club; start 14:00
• Tuesday 22nd August 50 over @ Clydesdale Cricket Club; start 11:00
• Wednesday 23rd August Rest Day
