The Youth All-Ireland T20 Finals are making a return after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic and will feature both an under-13s and under-15s girls’ competitions for the first time.
The Youth All-Ireland’s, which were last played in 2019, will be played across various venues over the next two weekends. Teams qualify for the national finals through provincial T20 cup success (except Munster’s representative which came through the Munster Super League).
Youth All-Ireland Finals fixtures
Boys Under-13s
• 4 September: Semi-Final 1 – Pembroke v Cork County (Pembroke; start 9.30am)
• 4 September: Semi-Final 2 – Bready v Instonians (Bready; start 3pm)
• 11 September: Final (Bready or Instonians)
Girls Under-13s
• 3 September: Qualifying Final – Clontarf v Lisburn (Clontarf; start 12pm)
• 4 September: Final – Bready v Winner QF (Bready; start 11am)
Boys Under-15s
• 11 September: Semi-Final 1 – CSNI v Bready/Newbuildings (Stormont; start 1pm)
• 11 September: Semi-Final 2 – Phoenix v Cork County (Stormont; start 9.30am)
• 11 September: Winner SF1 v Winner SF2 (Stormont; start 4pm)
Girls Under-15s
• 10 September: Qualifying Final – Bonds Glen v Clontarf (Bonds Glen; start 12pm)
• 11 September: Final – Holywood v Winner QF (Holywood; start 12pm)
Elaine Nolan, Participation Director at Cricket Ireland, said:
“We are delighted to work in partnership with the Provincial Unions to bring back the Youth All-Ireland Finals after a break of two years, and even more delighted to launch a girls’ competition at the two age levels.
“One challenge we have had to manage is the fact that there are currently slightly different age cut-off times between some of the Provincial Unions when it comes to under-age competitions, but we will be working with the Unions over the winter to create a greater sense of alignment for 2023 onwards.
“Thank you to all host and travelling clubs, players, families, coaches and officials who are supporting grassroots youth cricket by working so graciously with us on delivering these fixtures. And very good luck to all players for the finals’ series ahead.”
