Cricket Ireland, Munster Cricket and North West Cricket are thrilled to launch the brand new ‘Youth Connects’ youth leadership programme. In partnership with Cork and Donegal Sports Partnerships, the initiative is aimed at young people aged 16 – 18 who may or may not currently be involved at a cricket club in either region.
With the first programmes set to begin in February 2022, the aim of the Youth Connects programme is to upskill and develop young leaders in the community through interactive workshops, training, and practical placement.
Participants will be required to commit to each module with resources, training and support provided at no charge. Workshops include:
• Leadership and Event Planning
• Smash It and It’s Wicket! Activator Training
• Sports First Aid
• Safeguarding 1 Training
• Assistant Activator Placement
Expressions of interest for the programme are now welcome and, with places limited, we encourage early submissions.
