1st April 2021 marks the first-ever Veterans International cricket game hosted in Namibia. The Namibia Invitational team faces full ICC member Zimbabwe in a four-day long Over 50’s Easter Festival in Windhoek.
The Namibia Invitational side is proudly sponsored by FNB who pledged N$ 23 000 for the tournament and Castle Lite that sponsored product and the team clothing.
The Over 50’s Easter Festival kicked off with an opening ceremony at the Windhoek Luxury Suite Hotel at 19:00 just right after the Zimbawean team checked inn.
Cricket Namibia CEO Johan Muller stated the importance of maintaining a relationship among cricket countries. “Relationship is key to make sure the cricket progresses and I would like to recognize Francois Erasmus (CN Patron), Daneel van der Walt (CN Board Member), and Hestelle Haccou (CN Development Manager) for playing a major role in making the tournament possible.”

Eugenie Klazen, AB Inbev Marketing Manager attended the opening ceremony where she expressed on how fortunae it is to partner with Cricket Namibia, and wished both teams good luck for the tournament.
Zimbabwean Captain Darrell Goodwin commended his team for always being on board for such events, and they would like to have a good time in Namibia playing cricket.
