Cricket Namibia has hosted three competitive international tournaments, and we are pleased to host yet another Castle Lite series between the Richelieu Eagles and Hong Kong scheduled to commence on the 5th of June 2022 at United field. Bringing competitive, international cricket on home soil has been our mandate as a sports organisation and we are eager to showcase the growth of Namibian cricket in every game Namibia competes.

After a successful T20I series win against test nation Zimbabwe, the Richelieu Eagles are now changing format to play 50 Over games against Hong Kong of which we are looking forward to a display of good cricket during the series. Namibia is currently ranked 17th in the world in ODI cricket with only 11 games that have been played. National head coach Pierre de Bruyn says the tournament comes at a good time when the team can focus on preparations for the ODI series in Scotland. The three matches will allow for valuable game time and give opportunities for fringe players to compete on-field with the guidance of experienced Eagles. CEO, Johan Muller, thanks the Hong Kong side to tour to Namibia. “It is part of our strategic vision to attract high quality opposition to Namibia. This will be one of eight international tournaments hosted this year on home soil”

Cricket Namibia is inviting the Namibian public to support the Richelieu Eagles in the three-match tournament at United field. The broadcasting of the games is supported by Cricket Namibia partner, TCM through Dafabet, and the matches can also be watched live on Cricket Namibia Facebook page and on NBC2.
