Despite the measures, we have managed to close the women’s cricket season nicely in recent months.
On September 4, we concluded the women’s competition at VRA with a successful closing day. A day where 100 women were present, eight teams played a T10 tournament, each team was able to follow two clinics and the day ended with a BBQ on the sunny terrace!
Although the warm summer days on the grass and along the boundary are still a long time coming, the girls and women are not sitting still this winter!
In the past month, the 2021 cricket year was really concluded by the women with a clinic at Kampong and an Indoor tournament in the Margriethal in Schiedam.
Cricket clinic Kampong
On Saturday 20 November, the KNCB organized a cricket clinic for women aged 14 to 100 in Kampong. The clinic was given by coaches Sean Trouw and Kux Kwinana.

Kick-off women’s program Bloemendaal
On Sunday 21 November, CC Bloemendaal had the kick-off of their women’s and girls’ program. The coordinator and force behind the further expansion of the women’s department is Janine Oosthuizen. She is fully supported in this by the board, who are very proud of such a strength.

Indoor tournament Margriethal Schiedam
Last Saturday, December 19, we were able to close the cricket year 2021 with an indoor tournament at the last minute. With five teams and about 35 women we had a wonderful day full of cricket.
The derby between Ajax and Groen Geel, which has been taking place since 2010, was won by Ajax this year. Red and White was undefeated the winner of the day!
In the spring of 2022 we will organize another indoor tournament.
