The Dutch women’s team will play eight games in and against Thailand from November 20 to December 3, 2022. The venue is the Prem Tinsulanonda International School in Chiangmai. Led by Heather Siegers, who has recovered from an injury, the Netherlands will play four One Day Internationals and four T20Is against the host country.

Thailand first participated in the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020. The Netherlands took part in the 2021 World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe, where it played well for both Ireland and Sri Lanka. Both countries received ODI status from the ICC on 1 May 2022, as did the United States, Scotland and Papua New Guinea.

Shan Kader, Cricket Association of Thailand Development Manager: “The Cricket Association of Thailand is happy to host the Netherlands in Thailand’s first ODI series in Chiangmai. I’m sure it will be a fantastic series.”

Shane Deitz, National Women’s Coach of the Netherlands: “The Dutch team is very excited about this tour to Thailand which offers a great opportunity to play against one of the best performing teams in the world. It will be a tough test for us, but we are looking forward to it because as an athlete you want the opportunity to test your skills and development against a top team.”

“Thailand is in twelfth place in T20Is and we are nineteenth, so we start as underdogs. That ensures that we can play freely.”

“Our captain Heather Siegers is back, as is Sterre Kalis. They are two very important players for us who especially strengthen our batting. Heather is an excellent leader and a dangerous player and Sterre a world class player, so we are happy to have them back.” have on the team.”

“It was a tough selection. That shows that we have depth and there is competition for places. That is something that all good teams should have in the longer term. We have worked hard since the end of the European summer and can’t wait. to get on a plane and visit such a beautiful country as Thailand.”
