In view of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup in June, for which the three countries have qualified, Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands will play a T20I Tri-Series in the Netherlands in May. The participating countries play each other twice.

The place of action is VRA in Amstelveen. The playing dates are May 18 to 24, 2024. All matches will be livestreamed with six cameras by the European Cricket Network (ECN).

Ireland has already participated in the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup seven times. It reached the Super-8 in 2009 and the Super-12 in 2022. Scotland’s best performance was reaching the Super-12 in 2021. The Netherlands, which, like Scotland, participated in the T20 World Cup five times, reached the Super-12 and even finished eighth in the 2022 edition.

With the Afghanistan series in March, Pakistan in early May and the Netherlands and Scotland in late May, we feel this is our team offers a range of high-quality opponents. This suits us well for the upcoming tournament. Our thanks go to the KNCB for hosting the series.”

Steve Snell, Cricket Scotland’s Head of High Performance, said: “I am pleased with the quality and quantity of cricket we are playing in the lead up to the Men’s T20 World Cup. This Tri-Series provides vital preparation and crucial playing time for our squad. Immediately after a home series in the WCL2 series, it is important that our players face quality opponents in the T20 format ahead of the World Cup, and we are grateful to the Netherlands and Ireland for agreeing to play this series with us.”
