The Netherlands has won the first T20 meeting with Scotland. Scotland was unable to surpass the Dutch score: the score was 167-126.

Max O’Dowd and Michael Levitt opened for the Netherlands. O’Dowd had some trouble with his timing and was missed by a skier around 10. Levitt in turn came away with a catch chance on a personal score of 35.

The total had now risen to 49/0 after the first Powerplay.

The first wicket fell on 68 when Levitt (43 off 31) missed a straight ball from Gavin Main. On 87, O’Dowd (run a ball 30) became the next victim. Vikram Singh (a fantastic 39 off 18 with three sixes) and Sybrand Engelbrecht put on a 46-run partnership for the fourth wicket. 167 was the solid end result.

Already in the second over, Viv Kingma ensured that Michael Jones hit the ball into the hands of the mid off. Logan van Beek cleaned Hairs, and Viv Kingma got Charlie Tear caught behind (16/3).

The tall left arm spinner Daniel Doram took over from Van Beek. He took the important wicket of Berrington (39) and then caught a towering top edge from Leask. It was 93/5/16 and the Netherlands was on top.

Scotland now had to score almost two runs per ball. Some boundaries followed, but also a skier who was caught by Levitt.

Matthew Cross batted brilliantly, but did not receive enough support from his teammates. Almost all bowling changes had the desired effect, especially when Van Beek, returning to the attack, cleared away top scorer Cross (49).

When Viv Kingma (4-21) took his fourth wicket, Scotland were all out for 126. Van Beek took 3-18.
