In consultation with the associations, the KNCB has decided not to make up for the matches that have rained so far in the Top and Hoofdklasse (V). Because everyone wants to get the most out of the competition, there was (at the insistence of the associations) extensively looked at the possibilities of catching up with the matches that rained in May until 10 July. Even though this was not in accordance with the regular competition regulations, the KNCB has promised to investigate this further.

It is not due to (cricket) enthusiasm for catching up on rainy matches, but in practice it is all slightly different. For example, players and staff are not available on all make-up match days; coaches and first team players are often deployed on weekends to supervise youth. Partly because of this, the KNCB has decided, after extensive consultation with the clubs, not to catch up on rainy matches and to stick to the competition rules of 2021 .

With regard to the scoring, this means that:

A) Teams get one point for a rain-out game.
B) Count the rained out matches in the number of matches played.
