Following consultation with event stakeholders and Cricket Victoria, Cricket NSW (CNSW) has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021-22 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup scheduled to take place in Albury Wodonga from January 11 – 14.

With the many players, officials and spectators travelling from remote Indigenous communities, and the increased presence of COVID-19 throughout the state, the decision was made to postpone the event to prioritise the health and wellbeing of participants at this present time.

A new date for the event will be announced in due course.

Cricket NSW CEO Lee Germon said: “While we are bitterly disappointed to postpone this summer’s event for a second time, the health and safety of all involved in any Cricket NSW event is our number one priority.

“The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup is a very special tournament, involving people from all corners of the State including remote Indigenous communities and with the current challenges presented by COVID, it was agreed that in the best interests of all parties to postpone the event to a more suitable date in the future.”
