Former NSW captain and allrounder Shawn Bradstreet will re-join the Blues as a Coaching Consultant this season, with pre-season training due to commence next week.
Bradstreet, who has been Assistant Coach for Sydney Thunder’s BBL side for the past six years and has renewed for a further two, returns to the Blues set-up to primarily work with the fast-bowling group.
Following his brief involvement with the Blues during the back end of the 2020/21 season, Bradstreet will assist bowling coach Andre Adams in skill development, but also provide his expertise in all facets of the game.
“I’m pumped. Playing for NSW and captaining the state was one of the biggest honours I had in my playing career and to be back in the set up to help nurture the current players through their times, is something I’ve wanted to do at some stage in my coaching career,” Bradstreet said.
“I’m looking forward to helping a lot of the younger guys to continue to improve and support the (more senior players) who have been around and be there when they need me.”
CNSW Head of Male Cricket, Michael Klinger, said Bradstreet’s recruitment was an exciting coup for the Blues.
“Shawn has been an important and highly respected member of the coaching staff at the Sydney Thunder in recent seasons and is extremely passionate about joining the Blues coaching group for this season,” Klinger said.
“It’s our great pleasure at Cricket NSW to welcome someone of Shawn’s calibre and character onto the Blues coaching staff.”
