Volunteer administrators Tim Clayton, David Nichols and David Redden were awarded Life Membership of the NSW Country Cricket Association at the Annual General Meeting held on September 3.
A long-serving ambassador for cricket in country NSW, Clayton saw his volunteering efforts with Yass District Cricket Association (DCA), Northern Riverina Cricket Council, and the Country Committee of Management rewarded.
Nichols’ contributions to the Southern Riverina Cricket Council, Cricket Albury Wodonga Country Cricket Council, Riverina Cricket Zone, and Country Cricket NSW over the past two decades were prominently emphasised.
An important figure in Newcastle cricket, Redden offered his services far and wide to ensure the growth of the game in the region, including scoring Bush Blues fixtures and commentating on FrogBox and BarTV country cricket fixtures.
Michael Erdeljac, who sits on the Country Cricket NSW Management Committee, said:
“It’s a wonderful recognition for David [Nichols] and Tim. After many years of commitment and support for Riverina and Country Cricket, this is well deserved.”
Bush Blues and Newcastle Zone captain Nick Foster said:
“It is great to see the reward for David’s [Redden] dedication and hard work over many years for the Bush Blues as well as Western Zone and Cricket in the Newcastle area.”
