Cricket NSW has taken the next step in its vision to become a world class organisation that is the state’s most loved and successful sport by announcing a new and expanded Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
The new leadership group of 11, led by CEO Lee Germon, will succeed the former executive team of five that was assembled in April for the specific purpose of completing the new business’ strategic plan and subsequent organisational review.
The new ELT has a strong cross section of the business at its core, both inside and outside of cricket, including five female leaders – newly appointed GM Marketing & Communications, Clare Burnett; GM Community Cricket Experience, Joanne Scanlon; and GM People Experience, Leigh Kearney.
Existing and proven leaders Gina Crabb (People Experience Advisor) and Leah Poulton (Head of Female Cricket) have also been included.
Ben Hirschfeld (GM Commercial Experience) and Chris Botherway (GM Customer Experience) re-join the ELT.
Germon said the cohort had been put together to drive the business forward via their collective experience in leadership and unwavering belief and commitment to the CNSW purpose, vision and values.
“This new executive leadership team has a strong, diverse mix of skills and a common bond of passion to help us inspire everyone to play and love cricket,” Germon said.
“They are an extremely talented and experienced group that will be responsible for providing a link between management and the CNSW Board, driving key strategic partnerships and relationships, all while leading, mentoring and empowering our people to believe in new and brilliant possibilities.
“I said when we assembled our last, smaller executive team that they were there for a very important but explicit task and they have achieved that aim. Now we are moving onto the next phase of our business redesign.
“We have also always said diversity is important to us and that has again been demonstrated here. This team is made up of people from five different nationalities, a wide range of ages and experience and a good balance of gender. This will lead to a diversity and difference of thought, opinion and styles that will come together to lead CNSW forward. Everyone on this team is there on merit and is expected to help us achieve great things.”
The ELT will be supported by a number of leadership teams throughout the organisation that will help deliver CNSW’s next generation of leaders.
