About the role

This role will develop, co-ordinate and direct public policy and government relations activity for Australian Cricket with a particular emphasis on NSW.

You will:

  • Have extensive engagement with relevant stakeholders including Ministers and staff of the Australian and NSW Governments, backbench and Opposition MPs, and the Parliamentary Friends of the Cricket network.
  • Prepare and execute a strategy for the 2023 NSW State election that focuses on the key projects and programs of significance
  • Deliver funding for key projects and programs of importance to Australian Cricket
  • Ensure that the views and perspectives of Australian Cricket on policy matters are conveyed to, and considered by governments
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Australian Cricket stakeholders and other professional sporting bodies as required to improve outcomes for Australian Cricket

About you

  • Experience working in executive government at federal, state or local government level, or as a government relations adviser dealing externally with government, ideally with experience or knowledge of the sports industry
  • Experience in managing government policy and strategy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Relationship building skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Exceptional work ethic including the ability to prioritise work commitments and operate collaboratively in a multi-team environment
