NSW vice-captain and key batsman Jason Sangha has today been ruled out of the Blues’ Marsh Sheffield Shield clash with Western Australia at the WACA.

Sangha suffered a concussion during warm-ups on Day 3 of the match and exhibited concussion symptoms.

As per applicable ICC and CA Playing Conditions, a Concussion Substitute has been used by NSW, with Matthew Gilkes replacing Sangha for the remainder of the fixture.

Gilkes is a talented left-hand batter who has regularly featured for the Blues One-Day Cup and Sheffield Shield side.

Sangha will undergo further testing in the coming days, as per Cricket Australia Return to Play protocols, with further information on his status made available in due course.
