After the success of last year’s initiative to inspire cricket clubs across NSW to be open for business early, Cricket NSW organised a promotion for clubs that were open for business in time to leverage the excitement of the T20 World Cup again this year.

Following the promotion thousands of participants have already registered for the 2024/25 Summer season, showing that there is already strong interest from the community to lock in their spot at a club for the season ahead.

The prizes for the Clubs Open for Business promotion ranged from W/BBL player appearances and signed merch to the very-coveted BBL junior cricket pack with Zing bails and a Bluetooth speaker that promises to take the club’s junior cricket experience to the next level. By adding music and Zing Bails to their junior cricket matches, clubs will be able to bring the excitement of the Big Bash to their local ovals!

The winners of the promotion this year are:

First Prize (W/BBL Player Appearance)

  1. Plumpton Glendenning Cricket Club
  2. Glenorie District Cricket Club

Second Prize (Signed W/BBL Merchandise)

  1. Raymond Terrace Cricket Club
  2. Beacon Hill Cricket Club
  3. Peninsula Junior Cricket Club
  4. Normanhurst-Warrawee CC
  5. Wyong District Cricket Club

Third Prize (BBL Junior Cricket Pack incl. Zing Bails and a Bluetooth speaker)

  1. Kooringal Colts Cricket Club
  2. Griffith District Cricket Association

Martin Gleeson, Chief Community Cricket Officer, Cricket NSW, said:

Cricket Clubs across the state who opened their doors early last season received almost double the number of registrations per program than those who opened later in the season, providing more opportunities for people to play and love Cricket. We would like to thank all of our amazing volunteers who have worked hard to get their clubs set up for Season 24/25. Now that Cricket is Open for Business, we are encouraging people to find their local club at play.cricket.com.au and register for the season ahead!

*Cricket registrations taken through PlayHQ can now use ‘PayPal in 4’ to make the sport more accessible to all, in addition to the Active Kids Voucher for eligible families.
