To celebrate today’s International Women’s Day, CricHIIT – our award-winning initiative that encourages women and girls to play cricket will be launching its website and social media accounts.

CricHIIT, first introduced to Scottish clubs in 2018, is a unique initiative that encourages women and girls to play cricket through an innovative fitness-based programme that champions positivity & inclusivity.

Following its launch within Scotland three years ago, Cricket Scotland has received interest in the programme from other national cricket governing bodies and sports organisations from across the world. Todays’ global launch will offer interested activators the opportunity to sign up to the programme.

Commenting on todays’ launch, Cricket Scotland’s Women and Girls’ Development Manager Rosy Ryan said “‘We are delighted to be launching the CricHIIT website, which will allow access for anyone and everyone to deliver CricHIIT sessions.

“We know the programme has the power to grow the women and girls’ game, and it’s essential for us to open this up to everyone. Anyone can register on the website today if they are interested in becoming an Activator.

“I would encourage everyone to do so before the full launch of the website in a few weeks! Everyone at Cricket Scotland is excited to see the impact CricHIIT will have on the women’s game in Scotland and further afield.

“CricHIIT is empowering, uplifting and supportive – it’s different, and that’s why we love it.”
