Scotland’s Men will play Namibia and Oman at Forfarshire’s Forthill ground in May in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

Six ODI fixtures will be played between May 2 and May 12, with Scotland and Oman also playing a T20i at the ground following the conclusion of the CWCL2 series.

Forthill last hosted international cricket in 2019, when the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier took place at Forfarshire and Arbroath, with Bangladesh and Thailand qualifying for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Paul Macari, Cricket Scotland Head of Operations and Commercial, said:

“The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 gives us the opportunity to host international matches throughout the country at our ODI accredited grounds.

“Having held previous rounds of the series at Titwood, New Cambusdoon and Mannofield, we are delighted to be able to host this year at Forthill and we look forward to offering local fans the opportunity to see Scotland’s Men in action against two tough opponents.”

Elaine Sim, President of Forfarshire CC, said:

“We are delighted to welcome the Scotland Men’s team and their opponents from Namibia and Oman. As much as we are aware that there is a massive amount of work in front of us, people around the club and in the local area are very excited about this.

“This is a real opportunity and showcase for Forfarshire, on the back of two really successful seasons for the senior team on the pitch, to not just host major international cricket but also to highlight the fantastic facilities we have at Forthill. It’s a very family-orientated club and team spirit, with a successful rugby club, tennis setup and indoor sports facilities.

“There have been upgrades to the hub building and it’s been a real team effort, so to have these games at the start of the domestic season is just massive for us.”

Tickets are due to go on sale at the start of April. Further details about these fixtures, including information around hospitality packages as well as confirmed start times, will be released in due course.
