Cricket Scotland, in partnership with QTV, are delighted to announce enhanced live coverage of the showpiece fixtures in men’s and women’s Scottish domestic cricket this Sunday, August 20.

For the first time ever, the Men’s Scottish Cup Final and the Women’s T20 Scottish Cup Final will be broadcast simultaneously, free-to-air, with multiple cameras and two commentary teams, across multiple online platforms.

In the Men’s Scottish Cup Final, defending champions Forfarshire CC face Uddingston CC, with a 12.00pm start at Titwood in Glasgow. The match will be sponsored by HF Group, with the victors being crowned the 2023 HF Group Men’s Scottish Cup winners. The final will be streamed live and available to watch on the Cricket Scotland YouTube channel, as well as via the Cricket Scotland Facebook page.

The action begins slightly earlier for the Beyond Boundaries Women’s T20 Scottish Cup, as Finals Day in Perth begins at 11.00am with four teams in contention to lift the trophy. The semi-finals see Grange CC meet West of Scotland CC, while Watsonian CC take on last year’s finalists Stewart’s Melville CC, with the winners going head-to-head in the Beyond Boundaries Women’s T20 Scottish Cup Final from 2.30pm. The final will be streamed live and available to watch on the Cricket Scotland YouTube channel, as well as via the CS Live app.

Commentary at Titwood will be led by Broadcaster and Journalist George O’Neill, known for his work with BBC Scotland Sport, joined by analyst and Prestwick bowler Ronan Alexander. Meanwhile in Perth, broadcaster Jake Perry will describe the action, alongside current Scotland assistant coach Leigh Kasparek.

A third domestic final takes place on Sunday, with the delayed Men’s Challenge Cup Final between Morton and Edinburgh Academicals taking place at Freuchie, after last week’s fixture was postponed due to bad weather.

Paul Macari, Cricket Scotland’s Head of Operations, said:

“We’re delighted to show the Men’s and Women’s Scottish Cup Finals concurrently with equitable levels of production for the first time. It’s fantastic for these games to be in the public spotlight this weekend and a huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes from multiple partners to make this happen.

“It’s important that the best of Scottish domestic cricket is visible to as large an audience as possible, and we’re grateful for QTV’s enthusiasm and willingness to make our very own “Super Sunday” happen.

“We’d also like to thank the primary sponsors of the two cup competitions, Beyond Boundaries and HF Group, for their backing and support, as well as Ian Potts for his technical expertise and assistance in helping to bring the production at Perth together.”

Jack McGill, CEO of QTV, said:

“As longstanding partners of Cricket Scotland, we’re really pleased to bring an enhanced quality production of these two showpiece occasions to the cricket community.

“QTV is hugely passionate about broadcasting Scottish domestic sport, and this weekend’s coverage of the two Scottish Cup Finals will set a new benchmark for how domestic cricket coverage can look in Scotland. It’s particularly exciting for us to stream the highlight of the women’s domestic calendar at this level for the first time.

“It should be an exciting Men’s final at Titwood, whilst the Women’s T20 competition is wide open, so the viewers will be spoilt for choice. We can’t wait to watch a thrilling climax to both tournaments.”

Hugh Fulton, Managing Director of HF Group, said:

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring this year’s Men’s Scottish Cup Final, especially as the match is being played just down the road from our head office in Glasgow’s south side.

“HF Group are pleased to provide support once again to Scottish domestic cricket. We hope the weather is kind on the day and look forward to a great match between both sides.”

Keith Wilson, Chair of Beyond Boundaries, said:

“Beyond Boundaries have a longstanding relationship with the Women’s T20 Scottish Cup, and we are delighted to partner Cricket Scotland and QTV in raising the profile of this prestigious event to a new level this year.

“It is vital that grassroots cricket is given a prominent platform to showcase the best players, and in particular much of the emerging talent in the women’s game, and this weekend’s coverage is a big step forward. I look forward to attending Finals Day in Perth – may the sun shine down on us and the best team win!”
