Cricket Scotland has received confirmation from Plan4Sport, the organisation leading the independent review into racism in Scottish cricket, that it will publish its final report at 11am on Monday, 25 July.

Global Equality, Diversity and Inclusion experts, Plan4Sport, were commissioned by Scotland’s national agency for sport, sportscotland, to lead the detailed independent review in December 2021. The process started in January this year and has included direct engagement with hundreds of people.

Publication of the report follows an in-depth consultation exercise involving hundreds of people from across all levels of Scottish cricket including grassroots players, staff, national squad players, board members, coaches, regional association management committee members and match officials.

Cricket Scotland President, Phil Yelland, said: “We recognise that it has been an anxious wait for many across the cricketing community to hear the findings of the independent review into racism in Scottish cricket and we welcome confirmation of the publication date.

“The review’s publication is one of, if not the most, important moments in the history of the sport in Scotland and will have a substantial impact on our future. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has been involved in shaping, contributing to and overseeing the review and all the work that has gone into the comprehensive process.

“We look forward to learning the findings of the review and putting its recommendations into practice in order to improve our sport for all. There should be no place for racism in our sport and this is the environment we will work tirelessly to create going forward.”

The final independent review report and associated recommendations will be published on the sportscotland website.
