The strategy, which makes a commitment for Cricket Scotland to transform lives within cricket through unity, diversity, and belonging for all, can be viewed via the Cricket Scotland website and aligns with the wider organisational strategy published in August 2024.

The publication of the EDI Strategy represents the completion of Cricket Scotland’s Action Plan which was created in consultation with sportscotland following the Changing the Boundaries report in 2022. The completed Action Plan can be viewed here via the Cricket Scotland website.

Trudy Lindblade, Cricket Scotland CEO, said:

We are delighted to publish this strategy which lays out Cricket Scotland’s commitment to EDI as we seek to create a sport and community that is welcoming to all.

“We are proud that the Scottish cricket community is one of the most diverse sporting collectives in this country. This strategy demonstrates our desire to break down any barriers and embed a culture of equity at all levels of the game both on and off the field.

“It has taken a great deal of time, effort and dialogue to reach this stage, and I would like to thank Cricket Scotland’s Board Lead Ajit Trivedi, and our Head of EDI Kash Taank, for their diligent work in designing an EDI strategy with clear actions that support our wider ambitions leading to a strong future for Scottish cricket.”

Kash Taank, Cricket Scotland Head of EDI, said:

“This strategy represents a transformational change to the cricketing landscape within Scotland. We will continue to identify, acknowledge, and dismantle barriers that prevent the full participation of all cohorts.

“The pursuit of equitable cricket remains a key priority, delivered via the active engagement of all key stakeholders. Cricket Scotland remains cognisant of the changing demography of Scotland, and as such we will evolve accordingly.”

Ajit Trivedi, EDI Lead for Cricket Scotland’s Board, said:

“I am pleased to see this strategy published, which sets out Cricket Scotland’s vision and targets for our extensive work in this crucial area moving forward.

“Cricket Scotland’s EDI Strategy is about creating a space where diversity is valued, inclusion is practiced, and belonging is actively fostered—ensuring that everyone, at every level, feels empowered, respected, and connected to our sport, organisation, and community.”
