Cricket Scotland is pleased to announce that coaches across Scotland now have the benefit of being able to access New Zealand Cricket coaching modules to advance their learning.

Five modules are accessible through sportscotland’s online learning platform, Brightspace, covering a range of topics from coaching females to building team culture.

The five modules are:

• Coaching females
• Building confidence in your players
• Understanding your team
• The three P’s of learning
• Building team culture

Gordon Drummond, Cricket Scotland Head of Performance Pathway, said:

“We are excited about this new collaboration with New Zealand Cricket, which will see our coaches have access to their excellent coach development resources.

“Alongside the ICC Coach Education Pathway, it is important to provide person-led coach development resources, enabling coaches to learn and reflect at their own pace.

“The continued development of coaches is vital for the continued growth of the game in Scotland, and to meeting our strategic aims.

“I’m grateful to Toby Doyle and the team at New Zealand Cricket for allowing us to access their resources, and I look forward to future collaborations.”

Toby Doyle, NZC Community Cricket National Coach Development Manager, said:

“This partnership will create additional learning opportunities for all cricket coaches in Scotland, aiming to enhance the quality of coaching they provide to their athlete.

“The modules that coaches will have access to via this partnership will grow their coaching toolbox, with a focus on ‘how’ to coach.

“Moving forward, we have an opportunity to further exchange ideas and resources, to gain deeper insights into key coach development initiatives in both countries.”

The New Zealand Coaching Modules, alongside further coach development resources, are accessible via the Coaching section on the Cricket Scotland website

The modules are open to people coaching in Scotland. Coaches require a sportscotland Brightspace account and should contact coacheducation@cricketscotland.com for access.
