The Scottish Cup and Challenge Cup make a welcomed return to this years domestic season and as always the draws have thrown together some interesting first round ties.
In the Scottish Cup, the holders Heriots were drawn at home versus M8 Driving Ferguslie whilst it will also be a drive along the M8 for Greenock drawn away to the 2019 runners up Carlton.
Other notable first round ties have produced an all Edinburgh showdown between Edinburgh CC and Gen!us Grange, whilst it will be an even shorter drive through Glasgow for Clydesdale visiting neighbours Poloc. Other clashed in the west have Tunnock’s Uddingston travelling to Renfrew and Thomson McCallum Irvine hosting McRea FS West of Scotland.
Aberdeenshire face the longest journey away to Gala, whilst Meigle with the only bye in the round, can sit back and watch to see where they will travel to in Round 2 as SM Cricket Stirling County take on ion8 Forfarshire.
First round ties are to be played on Sunday 23rd May (see below for the full draw )
In the CS Challenge Cup, 12 sides will battle in Round 1 to play the 10 sides that received a bye into Round 2.
Notable first round ties will see Glenrothes crossing the Tay to visit defending champions Strathmore whilst the most northern team in the tournament Huntly travel to Edinburgh to take on the 2018 runners-up Leith FAB. The 2019 runners up Dundee HSFP received a bye into the 2nd round and will face a trip to Linlithgow.
First round matches are to be played om Sunday 30th May.
