Cricket Scotland have confirmed that the Scotland men’s team will play two matches in the DafaNews T20 Summer Bash tournament next month. The matches will be played at the ICC Academy in Dubai against Papua New Guinea and Namibia as part of the event hosted by the Emirates Cricket Board, which also features Ireland and the UAE.
The tournament forms an important part of Scotland’s warm-up for the ICC T20 World Cup and following on from their 50-over Cricket World Cup League 2 campaign, gives Shane Burger’s team a valuable opportunity to test themselves against strong opposition in the T20 format.
“We’re really pleased to be taking part in the DafaNews Summer T20 Bash,” said Burger. ”These matches will provide us with excellent preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup and we’re grateful for the work that has gone in behind the scenes to make them happen.”
Scotland will face PNG on Friday 8th October at 10.30am UK time before taking on Namibia on Saturday 9th October at 6am UK time.
The DafaNews T20 Bash will be broadcast in the UK on FreeSport.
