HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN CRICKET?
I always had a great passion for sport in school, but only played a small amount of cricket. This passion ultimately helped me to successfully gain a Sports Coaching degree at Robert Gordon’s University.
Upon leaving university I recognised the work of Brechin Buccaneers and that the role with them would be an ideal opportunity to develop not only my own skills but assist in the development of the community through the medium of sport and cricket.
I have never really had any individual sporting role models but have always been inspired watching others develop through their own hard work.
WHY SHOULD GIRLS AND WOMEN GET INVOLVED IN CRICKET?
Cricket offers great opportunity for participation. My role involves increasing sporting participation for women and girls, 16–24-year-olds and those aged over 50. This is mainly through cricket and table tennis but also includes a wider variety of sport and activities such as Kubb, cycling, walking photography and seated exercise.

Cricket Scotland, formerly the Scottish Cricket Union, is the governing body for cricket in Scotland, based at the National Cricket Academy in Edinburgh. Established in 1908 and restructured in 2001, it became an ICC Associate Member in 1994. The organization includes three sub-associations: the East of Scotland Cricket Association, Western District Cricket Union, and Aberdeenshire Cricket Association.
