2023 KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar: 02 – 05 July

Cricket South Africa (CSA) in partnership with KFC announce the highly anticipated KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar, which will be held in Durban between 02 – 05 July 2023.

The KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar is a flagship event within the program, and brings together mini-cricket volunteer coaches, and officials from various regions across the country.

This provides a platform for knowledge sharing, best practice discussions, and strategic planning, with the goal of enhancing the impact, reach and opportunities to engage an even larger number of children in South Africa’s largest grassroots programs.

During the seminar, participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions led by renowned cricketing experts. The aim is to equip coaches with the necessary skills and tools to effectively nurture young cricket talent.

CSA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pholetsi Moseki commented;

“The KFC Mini-Cricket programme, has grown exponentially over the past four decades and has played a pivotal role in introducing cricket to countless children in South Africa. By providing opportunities for children to experience the joy of cricket through fun and engaging activities, the program has helped build a solid foundation of talent and passion for the sport.

“Our gratitude goes out to our volunteers who play a huge role in ensuring the programme echo CSA’s core values to drive excellence, promote inclusivity, and inspire a new generation of cricket enthusiasts,” said Moseki.

“Special thanks to KFC for the commitment demonstrated by this partnership 15 years on; it is such partnerships that will ensure the continued success of the programme and impact for years to come,” concluded Moseki.

“KFC has a bold ambition to be the most inclusive QSR brand in Africa. Our sponsorship of the KFC Mini-Cricket programme is not just a sponsorship but a way to instil in the KFC mini-cricket kids, our volunteer coaches and administration team that anything is possible. The annual KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar is a great platform to remind all stakeholders involved in the programme that regardless of any societal barriers that may exist, we can unlock equal opportunities and level the playing fields for all children. As the new season starts, we look forward to bucket loads of fun, learning and the continued impact in our communities,” said Andra Ferreira Nel, KFC Marketing Manager, Brand and Purpose.

The KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar will see CSA and KFC Executives in attendance. The event will further be supported with the appearance of Proteas Men and Women players; Nonkululeko Mlaba, Masabata Klaas as well as other exceptional speakers who will be sharing learnings and throwing forward to the upcoming season.
