Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

Following a season of growth and progress, the North West Cricket Union concluded with a positive Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 17 August.

The AGM, held at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, saw the Members Council voting for re-election and new Board members. Mr Zubayr Minty, previously the Vice President, has now taken on the role of President, bringing his excellent expertise and experience to the board. Additionally, Mr Werner Prinsloo stepped into the role of Vice President, showcasing his commitment and service to the Union.

The Union is pleased to announce the retention of three Independent Directors, each playing a crucial role in our governance structure this season. Mr Dawood Seleka serves as Chairperson of Finance, Prof Zeyn Mia as Chairperson of Audit and Risk, and Mr Des Ayob as Independent Director.

While continuity remains a privilege, we are excited about the recent addition of two new Independent Directors, Ms Marilyn Leshage and Ms Ronel Moshodi, marking a significant step towards a more diverse and inclusive Board.

Our successful AGM and the growth that marks North West Cricket is a testament to the unwavering support of our partners and stakeholders. With a dedicated and unified Board at the helm, the future appears exceptionally bright. – North West Cricket CEO, Mr Ismail Minty.

At North West Cricket, our vision of being a sustainable Union through good governance, strong partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to our success, has taken us a step closer to some of our toughest goals this past season. We are incredibly grateful for the support and input we have received. On the cusp of a new season, North West Cricket extends its gratitude to all our stakeholders, including the Dragons players, our trusted partners and sponsors, schools, universities, Cricket South Africa, the media, and of course our fans! Together, we will continue to grow.
