Cricket Victoria (CV) is one of Victoria’s leading sporting organisations and is the governing body for the game of cricket in Victoria. From grassroots cricket to the elite teams – the Victorian Men’s Cricket Team, Victorian Women’s Cricket Team, Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars, Cricket Victoria nurtures and promotes the development and success of the sport for all Victorians.
We’re currently looking for an experienced Commercial Partnerships Manager to join the Melbourne Stars. This possible will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all account management of commercial partners for the Club. In addition, this position will be responsible for the delivery of all related match day and non-match day events for the Club.
The successful candidate will be self-driven and high motivated, prepared to roll up their sleeves and ‘get it done’. They will be a creative thinker and not shy away from delivering innovative ideas for partners. Above all they will be a team player with a willingness to go over and above for the success of the Club – on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the existing portfolio and new acquisitions of sponsor partners to ensure accurate delivery of agreed sponsor benefits
- Manage all day-to-day communications with all partners, and ensure ongoing partner relationships are strong, maximising value and return on investment (ROI)
- Central point for all internal and external delivery requirements of partners
- Develop, manage, and deliver integrated sponsorship plans to support strategic outcomes of partners
- Establish a detailed understanding of commercial partners’ marketing plans and develop, deliver and review creative concepts for partners
- Draft sponsorship contracts and agreements including deliverables, timeframes, inclusions/exclusions, and performance metrics
- Provide event management support at all home games (and away games if necessary), managing all sponsorship activations, partner ‘money can’t buy’ experiences and other related activities
- Identify, create, and customise sponsorship properties and packages
- Manage all player obligations, including managing Melbourne Stars player appearances, ASA’s (where applicable) and Cricket Australia reporting obligations
- Assist with the development, delivery, and marketing of the at-match hospitality program for BBL Clubs
- Proactively seek expenditure efficiencies without compromising essential quality across the Cricket Victoria Group (Cricket Victoria, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades), considering group buying advantage
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven work history in a similar senior role
- Previous Corporate Partner experience preferably within a sporting body, desirable
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant degree i.e. Business, Marketing, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to build and retain relationships at all levels
- Capable of delivering an end-to-end solution for current and prospective partners
- Ability to work within a small team environment
- Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
- Current Drivers Licence
