The Role
We are currently seeking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as our Cricket Manager for the Western Country & Central Highlands region. This position will play a critical role in growing sustainable participation, supporting the delivering of exceptional experiences and supporting the Western Country & Central Highlands cricket community Associations, Clubs, and school programs. The region covers the following local government areas (and other surrounding areas also): Moyne, Southern Grampians, Warrnambool, Horsham, Macedon Ranges, Ballarat and Corangamite.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with relevant Cricket Victoria employees to deliver the Region Plan.
- Building, maintaining and leveraging key stakeholder relationships – i.e. associations, clubs, local government, schools, etc.
- Growing participation across targeted groups, including 5 – 12 Year old participation, Women & Girls and CALD communities.
- Developing strong connections between clubs and schools to support the transition of participants to registered club programs.
- Providing support and guidance to assist clubs and indoor cricket centers to provide quality experiences for players in the Australian Cricket Pathway (from Woolworths Cricket Blast through junior formats to senior cricket).
- Working collaboratively with associations and clubs to assist them to implement Australian Cricket policies, systems and procedures including, but not limited to, Safeguarding Children, Member Protection, etc.
- Working with local clubs and associations to identify and resolve logistical and other issues that may impact their effective operation, including competition management, umpire recruitment and retention, etc.
- Integrating and utilising the current and emerging digital and technology tools including, but not limited to, Salesforce & PlayHQ.
- Developing and implementing ways to leverage the profile of the W/BBL to increase engagement.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the drive to lead and inspire others to achieve the best possible outcome for cricket within the region. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to deliver on outcomes and results. In addition, the successful candidate be willing to strive to actively promote and achieve increased participation through Woolworths Cricket Blast, and all Junior, Senior and Diversity participation opportunities, and programs.
To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Teaching, Commercial or related field.
- Experience working and/or volunteering within a sporting association or club.
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or arranged on appointment).
- Current Victoria Driver’s License.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification (or arranged on appointment).
- Availability to work after hours and on weekends.
