The Role
We are currently seeking two innovative individuals to play a part in the Big Bash League (W/BBL) as our Digital Content Specialists. One position will be solely dedicated to the Melbourne Renegades while the other to the Melbourne Stars. These positions will play a critical role in working alongside the Media & Communications Managers to create digital content that aligns with the Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars brands for their social media channels and website.
It’s an exciting time to be involved in Cricket, as the Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) continue to grow and are now the most watched and fourth most-watched sporting leagues in Australia on a per-game basis.
The successful candidates must be available to work out of hours and weekends from October to January.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver and lead on content for the club’s website and Facebook, Twitter (BBL & WBBL), TikTok and Instagram platforms
- Work in collaboration with the club’s Communications/Digital team to deliver content within deadlines and publish on social media channels
- Attend matches, club events, training sessions and commercial sponsor activities for the purposes of producing content and managing social platforms
- Assist the club’s marketing and membership staff in the promotion of ticketing and membership packages
- As required, assist in delivery of match day broadcast requirements and other media and communications opportunities
- Assist the Digital team by drafting/creating member and fan eDMs using Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Provide support on generating PR and media opportunities within the season
- Assist with general administration duties of the Club’s business
About You
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally with a major sporting team, and be able to work professionally and efficiently with high profile athletes. They will have advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, strong CMS and VMS skills and have the ability to send eDMs using marketing campaign tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred). Above all else, the successful candidate will be a strong time manager with the ability to work to tight deadlines and demonstrated capability to work as part of a team, but with a level of autonomy and initiative.
To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:
- Tertiary qualification or similar in media, communications or marketing
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with a major sporting team
- Established knowledge in social media management and content production for platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
- Strong understanding of cricket
- Strong CMS and VMS skills (Sitecore and Brightcove preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or arranged on appointment)
- Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
