CricViz agrees three-year deal to support Delhi Capitals in the WPL tournament.

CricViz,  the market leader in data-driven cricket intelligence, has been appointed by the Delhi Capitals as their data and analytics partner for the inaugural women’s IPL (WPL) tournament.

CricViz will be providing data insights around the WPL recruitment process, with Head of Insight Ben Jones joining the Delhi Capitals team in the build-up to the auction and providing support on the auction table itself. In addition to this, CricViz will be providing strategic support for the coaching staff and player group throughout the season.  The competition will also provide one of the first outings for Query Tool Pro, CricViz’s enhanced  analytical platform which provides new ways for analysts, coaches and players to access CricViz’s vast cricketing database.

CricViz’s extended involvement with the Capitals builds on the successful partnership in South Africa which has contributed to the Pretoria Capitals’s run to the final of the SA20.  It also underlines CricViz’s role as the world’s leading experts for the Women’s Game – coming at a time when the CricViz broadcast team is currently supporting the ICC in the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Matt Lovering, Managing Director of CricViz said, “We’re delighted to have been appointed by the Capitals to help build their team for the forthcoming WPL.  The WPL will be transformative for the Women’s game, and we are looking forward to helping the Capitals ensure that they have the best possible start to the new competition.”

Ben Jones, Head of Insight for CricViz said, “We have built a great relationship with the Capitals over the last few months in Pretoria.  With its work in the SA20, the organisation has shown a forward-looking approach in understanding the role that data and analytics can play in building a new team, and we are excited to be able to extend this partnership to help build another strong squad for the WPL.”
