KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union brought to an end Northerns Cricket’s recent domination of the CSA Members’ Award when the results were announced of the Incentive Scorecard system for 2020 that rewards Members who exceed the basic delivery and compliance requirements of the CSA operating and funding objectives.

There was little to choose between the top four provinces who were only separated by just over three points with Boland finishing second, Northerns third and South Western Districts fourth.

KZN scored 83.49 on the incentive scorecard with Boland just one point behind on 82.49. Northerns scored 81.88 and SWD 80.03.

A pool of R5-million is available to the best performing provinces in the three categories.

KZN finished top in the youth category and were joint winners in the Strategic Focus category as well as the Governance and Administration categories.

The other joint winners in Strategic Focus were Eastern Province, Easterns and Central Gauteng Lions.

South Western Districts were joint winners in the Governance Category while the other joint winners in the Administration category were Boland, Northerns and Western Province.

Western Province won the RPC and Hubs category outright while Free State were also outright winners in the Player Performance Plan category.

Limpopo Impala moved up from 12th to 7th place in the incentive category to be named the most improved member.

“This draws to a close the sixth year of the Operational Model,” commented CSA Acting Chief Executive, Dr. Jacques Faul.

“The review and feedback of the Incentive Scorecard has been a productive exercise and one which we believe will enhance the performance of CSA and each Member. We can be very satisfied with the progress made by Members.

“The progress made to date is a clear indication that the Operational Model has been embraced by all. We are confident that this will translate into cricket in South Africa being world-class, in administration, governance and performance.

“Cricket programmes across the board have remained a healthy pass rate of more than 60 percent for all members but there is room for improvement in on-field specific areas such as the player performance plans (PPP).”
