Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has today announced the match officials for the 2024/25 season, with Stacey Lackay appointed as the second female on the CSA Reserve Panel alongside Kerrin Klaaste.

Other newly appointed umpires on the Reserve Panel are Muhammed Jooma, Wilhelm Nell, Evan van der Merwe.

The renowned former ICC Elite Panel of Umpires member Marais Erasmus, who officiated his final international match in March, will join the first-class panel to mentor up-and-coming umpires across domestic cricket.

Andre Olivier of South Western Districts and Warren Wyngaard of Western Province have been promoted to the first-class panel.

Another notable promotion is the inclusion of Arno Jacobs on the CSA International Panel, where he joins the experienced trio of Allahudien Palekar, Lubabalo Gcuma, and Stephen Harris.

Senior umpire Adrian Holdstock retains his position on the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires.

The annual match officials meeting is taking place in Stellenbosch this week and will run until Sunday. A panel discussion will be led by former Proteas Men’s and current DP World Lions head coach Russell Domingo and Erasmus.

“We are excited to announce the match officials for the upcoming season, which reflects our commitment to fostering talent and maintaining the highest standards of officiating across domestic and international cricket,” commented Director of Cricket Enoch Nkwe.

“Marais Erasmus’s continued involvement is a significant boost for our first-class panel, and we are confident that the new appointments and promotions will bring valuable experience to our panels.

“I would also like to congratulate Stacey Lackay on her appointment to the Reserve Panel, as Cricket South Africa remains committed to advancing the growth of female match officials.”
