Cricket South Africa (CSA) has today congratulated the Proteas for their emphatic win over Bangladesh in a two-match test series that ended at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The Proteas, who were dominant with both bat and ball, clinched a 332-run victory, following a 220-run win in the first leg of the Test Series at Kingsmead in Durban last week to seal the series 2-0.

Congratulating the Proteas on their win, CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki said; “The Proteas have yet again shown their impressive dominance in the field of play against formidable opponents. Their confidence and composure served them well and secured them this resounding win.

“We are particularly encouraged that the Proteas’ current rhythm will serve them well in their next encounter against England later in the year.

“CSA accordingly congratulates the Proteas for continuing to do the country proud and thanks Coach Mark Boucher, Captain Dean Elgar and the entire team for this thrilling victory.”

CSA Board Chairperson, Lawson Naidoo said; “This win shows that the Proteas are on the path to greater heights in their campaign to reclaim the position as the world’s best cricket side.

“This win warms our hearts and confirms that South Africa is clearly a force to be reckoned with in international cricket. Congratulations to the ever-green Proteas!

“The Board of Cricket South Africa equally thanks the Bangladesh Cricket Board for availing the Tigers to participate in this tour, which was entertaining and exciting. The many South Africans and international fans were served with an unmatched blend of cricket, owing to the kinship between CSA and the BCB, which we are grateful for.”
