Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

Eastern Cricket is sad to hear of the passing of Gugu Khumalo who was a young aspiring cricketer. She represented Eastern Cricket at last year’s National Girls U16 Tournament in Gqeberha and was part of the current EC squad that is due to participate in this year’s National Tournament that will be held in East London in December.

Gugu was a bubbly young lady who was dedicated to making it big in this game of cricket. We as the Eastern Cricket family would like to send our sincere condolences to the family during this difficult period, mentioned Mr Colin Gxowa on behalf of EC.

We wish for her family all her team mates, school mates and coaches, peace, comfort, courage and lots of love at this time of sorrow, concluded Gxowa.
