It is with great sadness that Eastern Province Cricket has learned of the passing of Trevor Moos.
He was a multi-talented sportsman who played rugby for Hampshire RFC, and cricket for Shamrocks CC and United CC. He served as president of both clubs as part of an illustrious career as an administrator.
A matriculant of Spandau Secondary School in Graaff-Reinet, Mr Moos spent his working and sporting life in the Central Karoo. He obtained his Diploma in Education from Bridgeton College in Oudtshoorn, and started teaching in 1986 at the Lettie de Klerk Primary School in Nieu Bethesda.
In 1991 he joined Narsing Street Primary School in Graaff-Reinet and was made principal of the school in August 2019.
His career as a sports administrator included stints as Match Secretary of the Central Karoo Cricket Union, Secretary of the Central Karoo Cricket Union, and Secretary of the EP Midlands Cricket Board.
He was an Eastern Province Cricket Board Member representing the Sarah Baartman District at the time of his passing.
“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Trevor on the EPC board. He always acted in the best interest of the game, and will be sorely missed,” says Donovan May, president of Eastern Province Cricket.
