Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

With the official start of the new cricket season now just days away, Cricket Boland and Gbets have announced the renewal of their winning partnership which was formed at the beginning of last season. This new deal will see the sports betting company earning the naming rights of the GbetsRocks for another two years.

This comes off the back of a successful first season which saw the Paarl-based side winning the Cricket South Africa (CSA) T20 Challenge in the St George’s Park Bubble in Gqerberha, with Gbets as their headline sponsor.

According to CEO of Goldrush Gaming Group, Mr Mergan Naidoo, the decision to renew the naming rights sponsorship of the GbetsRocks was an easy one.

‘’We knew from the very beginning that our partnership with the Paarl Rocks would be a success. Going through a fantastic championship winning campaign last season was memorable, and we look forward to more continued success in the coming months. Our shared hunger to win trophies and contribute to the development of local cricket makes us extremely excited for the upcoming season – one where we aim to successfully defend the title of national T20 champions, as well as push for more in all formats of the game,” said Naidoo.

James Fortuin, Cricket Boland CEO, was equally as happy. “Gbets and The Rocks have formed a formidable partnership right from the outset and it was an easy decision to renew what we see as a prospering coalition. The two share similar values and are driven to succeed in their respective spheres. We are now also the only franchise sponsored by Gbets and look forward to this partnership growing from strength to strength.”

The GbetsRocks under the leadership of coach, JP Duminy and captain, Pieter Malan, begin the defence of their CSA T20 title on Tuesday with a derby against Six Gun Grill Western Province in Potchefstroom.
