Current head coach of the AET Tuskers Grant Morgan has resigned from his position at the helm of the Pietermaritzburg-based side.
Morgan, who came into the role during last season, was instrumental in helping the Tuskers to promotion into Division 1. The 52-year-old submitted his resignation on Friday has sighted personal reasons for his resignation.
“We would like to thank Grant for the role he played in getting Tuskers cricket into the top division of domestic cricket in South Africa,” CEO of the KZN Inland Cricket Union Jason Sathiaseelan said.
“It’s unfortunate that we will be losing a coach with his experience and knowledge of the game, in particular the domestic game.
“The whole of the KZN Inland Cricket Union wishes Grant all the best for the future.”
A new head coach has not been confirmed, however Athi Maposa, the current assistant coach, will assume the role of head coach for the remainder of the CSA One Day Cup with Yusuf Abdulla serving as his assistant coach.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.
