CSA mourns the passing of Geoff Clarke

Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of former Northerns Cricket Union (NCU) coach, Mr Geoff Clarke, following his passing this week.

Mr Clarke coached and worked at the Northerns Academy for a number of years. He assisted several players come through the ranks to become South Africa’s first-class cricketers.

“Cricket South Africa is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr Clarke,” said CSA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Pholetsi Moseki.

“He was an influential coach within the Northerns and Eersterust regions in particular and there are many players who are indebted to him for their careers.

“On behalf of the CSA Family, I extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and associates,” concluded Mr Moseki.
