CSA: North West Cricket appoints new acting CSM

Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

North West Cricket is excited to announce the appointment of Solomon Ali Meki as the new acting Cricket Services Manager (CSM) at North West Cricket. 

With Ismail Minty as the acting CEO, Meki will take over the role as CSM and project manage the upcoming T20 Tournament, commencing on the 17 October 2022 as well as the ICC U1 Women’s World Cup to be hosted by JB Marks Oval in January next year. 

Solly, as he known amongst his colleagues, has been at North West Cricket from 2008 as an intern and quickly progressed to Youth Cricket Coordinator from 2009 to date. A testament to his commitment, enthusiasm and incredible work ethic. 

“I am thankful for the faith the Board has in me and for the support the current Acting CEO, Mr Minty, has shown along with the faith he has placed on me, and I look forward to taking this exciting challenge head-on as it’ not only a great opportunity but it allows for tremendous growth,” said Solly. 

North West Cricket wishes Mr Meki all the best in his new appointment. We are confident that he will perform all his duties well and to the best of his abilities.
