North West Cricket (NWC) held its Annual General Meeting for the first time in four years on Monday, 31 May 2021 at the Senwes Park President Suite.
After being under administration for some time, the (NWC) Clubs had the opportunity to elect a new President, Vice President and two lower league representatives.
As the outgoing NWC Administrator, Mr. Archie Pretorius elected not to chair the meeting. Cricket South Africa (CSA) nominated a former NWC president Mr. Mickey Gordon as chairman of the proceedings, with CSA Compliance Manager Ms. Sindiswa Ngcwabe in attendance at the meeting as a CSA observer.
The meeting elected the below individuals onto the Members Council:
Mr. Tebogo Motlhabane | President |
Mr. Zubayr Minty | Vice President |
Mr. Shime Matlhong | MC Representative for Lower League Members |
Mr. Norman Mmusi | MC Representative for Second League Members |
These elections bring about a properly constituted Members Council that will have the task to establish a Nominations committee and to appoint a Board of Directors. A Special General Meeting will be called for in order to finalise the Board of Directors for NWC.
Former president, Mickey Gordon shared words of wisdom with the incoming President and other elected office bearers, highlighting that cricket is the most important priority of the Members Council.
We strongly believe that the elected individuals will serve to the best of their abilities and promote cricket throughout their tenure. We congratulate all the appointed candidates and wish them best of luck with their task at hand.
