CSA: North West Cricket welcome Glencore as the New North West Dragons Women’s team title sponsor

Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

North West Cricket is honoured and proud to announce Glencore, a global mining company, as the new title sponsor for the North West Cricket Women’s team.

Glencore is passionate about the development of women in sport and has taken great care in making sure that women are propelled forward in this previously male dominated playground.  The aim of this partnership is to grow the support for women’s sport and make sure that these talented ladies get the best backing possible for the season ahead.

Who is Glencore?  Glencore, a mining company operating from Rustenburg, started in South Africa in 1974 when their marketing activities began, but mining only started 14 years later in 1988 and today are among the largest producers of coal and ferroalloys.

Glencore, one of the worlds largest globally diversified natural resources companies, that responsibly supply the commodities that are crucial to development and the advancement of everyday life.  As miners, producers and marketers working together in advancing life by moving commodities from where they are plenty to where they are needed, while doing this safely and responsibly.
