SuperSport Park is thrilled to announce the implementation of Open WiFi, a cutting-edge wireless network infrastructure, generously sponsored by the Telecom Infra Project’s (TIP) Open WIFI initiative.

This initiative is managed within TIP’s Open Converged Wireless (OCW) project group, the Open WiFi community, consisting of more than 300 participants across the board who have all contributed to making significant technological advancement in the industry possible.

“We are proud to partner with HFCL Limited, a prominent TIP member and an Indian technology company headquartered in Gurugram, India. HFCL specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of top-notch telecommunications equipment and other related electronics.” Explained Stephan Dauth, CEO of PMD Group, a reputable South African company, which spearheaded the construction of the Open WiFi network at SuperSport Park.

Through this sponsorship, SuperSport Park has acquired state-of-the-art Access Points (AP) hardware, setting the stage for an exceptional connectivity experience for spectators.

“To manage and enhance our Open WiFi network, we have engaged Wavespot, an industry leader dedicated to connecting people with great businesses.”

“Wavespot’s technology transforms our WiFi into a social hub, providing seamless integration with popular social networks. Customers can now log into our WiFi using their preferred social network and instantly receive rewards, coupons, and emails tailored to their visits. With Wavespot’s expertise, we aim to strengthen relationships with our valued spectators, offering personalized experiences during their time at the stadium.” Dauth continued.

Samuel Prinsloo, the financial manager at SuperSport Park, emphasizes the commercial benefits and advantages of the Open WiFi system. Prinsloo affirms that this advanced infrastructure not only enhances the spectator experience but also provides lucrative opportunities for businesses within the stadium premises.

“With our Open WiFi network, commercial ventures can leverage customer data to deliver targeted marketing, engage with patrons in real-time, and foster lasting connections with their clientele.” Prinsloo commented.

SuperSport Park is committed to providing an unparalleled connectivity experience to valued spectators. The introduction of Open WiFi made possible by the Telecom Infra Project’s Open WIFI initiative, the sponsorship of HFCL Limited, the expertise of Wavespot, and the dedicated efforts of PMD Group, marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to deliver the best sporting experience.
