Cricket South Africa (CSA) celebrated development cricket with the CSA Pathway Awards that honored achievements and contributions at various levels to the growth of cricket in the country.

The CSA Pathway Awards took place at Vodaworld on Friday morning, marking the first in-person ceremony since the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic and signaled a return to the vibrant domestic cricket scene that entertained domestic cricket fans across the country.

SA U19 Women’s Karabo Meso was named CSA U19 Women’s Player of the Year after her displays behind the stumps in the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Kwena Maphaka was the biggest winner of the morning, claiming the CSA Boys U16 Player of Tournament and CSA U19 Men’s player of the Year after an electric run at the three National Weeks namely; CSA Boys U16, CSA U19 Khaya Majola Week and the CSA Cubs Week.

Tazmin Brits went home with the coveted CSA Women’s Provincial Player of the Year, for a third consecutive year.

“The CSA Pathway Awards aim to acknowledge outstanding performances, sportsmanship, exemplary coaching, grassroots development, and overall contributions to the game,” commented CSA Head of Cricket of Pathways, Edward Khoza.

“This provides an opportunity to recognize exceptional individuals and entities in our age groups, ancillary members and all those who inspire a healthy pathway. Through these awards, CSA seeks to inspire others to continue striving for excellence in cricket,” said Khoza.

“Congratulations to all our winners for their resilience and spirit that unites our cricketing community,” he concluded.
