Deaf Cricket South Africa (DCSA) has proudly capped their official squad for the much-anticipated DICC T20 World Cup UAE 2024. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 6-12 March at the esteemed Vision Cricket Centre in Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates.

The event will witness the finest cricket teams from around the globe, including Australia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and the defending champions, Sri Lanka.

With a blend of passion, determination, and maturity, the DCSA squad is primed to not only compete, but also serve as ambassadors for the game and South Africa. Their journey is expected to inspire deaf cricket at grassroots levels both locally and internationally.

Cricket South Africa extends its best wishes to the squad on making the nation proud and leaving an indelible mark on the global stage.

DCSA Chairperson, Rory Hickson expressed immense pride in the squad, stating;

“This squad has been together for a long time and is probably the most experienced we’ve ever fielded on an international stage.

“They have shown exceptional resilience and rallied together like close-knit brothers, both on and off the field. Their dedication and determination are evident not only in their performance but also in their efforts to raise funds to ensure the entire squad could embark on this journey,” said Hickson.

Highlighting the significance of the team’s representation amidst the backdrop of success from other sporting codes in South Africa, Hickson said;

“The expectations on the squad at a time like this when our rugby and senior cricket counterparts are delivering so much in terms of results and unity to our country, are going to be huge. I have no doubt that these gentlemen will relish the challenge and give everything they have on the field to emulate them.”
